We are pleased to officially announce the second annual Louisiana Queer Conference hosted by Spectrum, which is Louisiana State University’s student organization for LGBTQ students and their allies.
This year, we are proud to announce that Mara Keisling, the founding executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality will give our keynote address about the importance of trans-inclusion in our LGBTQ movement.
We will have our second “State of the Movement” Panel, giving us an update on the state of LGBTQ issues in Louisiana on the statewide level. There will also be three, one hour workshop sessions covering a variety of interesting topics (TBA) and have partnered with Vagina Monologues at LSU to provide a showing in support of Louisiana Trans Advocates.
This conference is a great opportunity to network with other LGBTQ students and allies from across the state of Louisiana, including a very classy social mixer/Queer Prom that evening.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Kameron V Kilchrist via Facebook or email info@laqueerconference.org
Pre-registration online is strongly encouraged, but you can also register at the door. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door for anyone who is not a currently enrolled LSU student with valid student ID.
